Hi!

Welcome to my blog!  Here, I  will be chronically my adventures as a First Time Home Owner, my attempts to live a greener lifestyle, turning my home into a “urban homestead”, and probably life in general.

The North Country Homestead is located in Very Northern New York State, about an hour south of Montreal, Canada.  We are USDA Plant Hardiness Zone 4, which makes for a very short growing season.

Currently, the Homestead consists of me (Ben), my mischievous Yellow Labrador Retriever Odin, Oliver and Oliva (twin cats), and some newly acquired Barred Rock chickens.

We are looking for female companionship, so if you’re interested in meeting us, drop us a line!
